Why Mosh Labs Built PreSpend

PreSpend is Mosh Labs’ planning-first budgeting app for Android. Instead of tracking spending after the fact like most budget trackers, PreSpend has you commit your income to expense categories before the month starts, so every pound and dollar has a job before you spend it. Commitments carry a confidence weighting, so a paycheck you’re certain about and freelance income you’re only half-expecting don’t get treated the same way in your plan.

Beyond the core budget planner, PreSpend covers ground most budgeting apps leave out. Loan tracking keeps a record of money you’ve lent or borrowed, one-time or in installments, with reminders and paid-off/collected status. Subscription tracking watches recurring charges on whatever billing cycle they actually run on. Savings goals let you fund a named goal or size an emergency fund off your own monthly expenses, with every contribution and withdrawal logged. A full bill splitter handles named members, per-item assignment or equal splits, custom percentages, and tip/tax, with an optional shared mode for splitting bills collaboratively. At the end of each month, a short three-question reflection habit asks what was hardest to commit to, what surprised you, and what you’d cut, no judgment involved.

PreSpend is local-first by default: your budget data lives on your device. Cloud sync across devices and collaborative bill splitting are opt-in, encrypted, and part of PreSpend Premium.

PreSpend is available now on Android, with an iOS release planned.
